Summer Activities > Ranger Service

Want to know what beasties live in the burn? or explore the banks of the Tyne? Rumage in the rockpools to see what treasures live beneath the surface? Our Rangers activities are for you.

The Countryside Ranger Services programme of activities offered below, has been designed to be suitable for children and young people aged 5-16 years.

There is a charge of £2 per person per event, payable in advance. All activities need to be booked in advance in order to manage the number of people attending.

Where appropriate, meeting place details will be given when you book a place.

Please note that car parking charges may apply at some sites. Some car park sites may also have vehicle height restrictors, at their entrances.

A leaflet outlining these events and our hikes programme is available from a wide variety of outlets or directly from the Department of Sport, Countryside and Leisure. Hikes can be booked here

If you or your child has additional support needs, please contact the Ranger Service on the number provided for advice on the suitability of the activity.
