Football is a popular sport at Preston Lodge High School for boys and girls.

Football is an excellent way to get active, challenges your aerobic capacity, improves muscular strength and teaches coordination. Football is a great way to meet new people, build your communication skills and improve your team work. Within these classes you will learn dribbling, passing, defending and shooting skills, alongside a vast amount of position specific areas.

As Preston Lodge HS Football is free, we rely heavily on volunteers. We are always looking to extend our programmes and any support you may be able to provide as a leader, assistant or coach would be hugely appreciated. We welcome all ages, whether parent or pupil, and provide full training and support. Coaching and volunteering is a great way to learn and develop many skills that employers are looking for.

Our Girls Football programme is aligned with Cockenzie Star.  Pupils of PL HS are welcome to attend their sessions for free, as well as represent PL HS.  You are also welcome to join Cockenzie Star and make use of their membership benefits.

Our S1, S2 & S3 Football for All is open to any pupil in those year groups.
Each session will be game based and run by our Senior Pupils.

Our S1, S2 & S3 (U13s, U14s & U15s) Boys School Team squads will be selected form 2 trials.
A match squad of 16 will be selected for each team.
Due to injury, illness, unavailability, from time to time, pupils who attend the Football for All sessions may be invited to play on a match by match basis for the school teams.
Those selected to play for the school teams will be expected to attend the Football For All Sessions.

Our U16s & U18s Boys School Team squads will be selected from those who register their interest and are committed to fulfilling the seasons fixtures.
