Active Schools Running Clubs | Prestonpans
Running is continuing to grow in popularity as a sport, and we're delighted to have lots of opportunities to give running a go as we introduce more Active Schools Running Clubs across East Lothian. The Running Clubs will provide a great opportunity for children to improve their fitness, get outside, and get active before school, all while developing key running skills. Participants will join their friends in fun and energising running sessions, suitable for runners of all abilities.
Longniddry Primary School P4-7 Running Club
We’re excited to introduce a brand new Running Club at Longniddry Primary School in Term 2, starting Wednesday 5th March. The Longniddry Primary School Running Club will be delivered by our volunteer team, Claire and Eilidh.
Dates Term 2: Wednesdays Mar 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th (4 sessions)
Location: Longniddry Playing Fields (meet at gates between school playground and playing fields)
Time: 8:15-8:45am | Ages: P4-P7 | Cost: FREE
Preston Tower Primary School (Preston Road) P4-7 Running Club
Preston Tower Primary School Running Club is delivered by Mr McAughey and our volunteer team, Mrs Lewis, Julie and Kevin.
Dates Term 2: Wednesdays Jan 22nd, 29th; Feb 5th, (off 12th), 19th, 26th; Mar 5th, (off 12th), 19th, 26th (8 sessions)
Location: Meet at Gym Hall door (left of the school main entrance)
Time: 8:15-8:45am | Ages: P4-P7 | Cost: FREE

Volunteers - We Need You!
We need your help! We’re looking for volunteers to support our volunteer teams in delivering the Running Clubs so we can continue to grow the clubs and offer more spaces.
Does your child attend one of the other local Prestonpans Primary cluster schools and would you like to help us introduce a Running Club?
All levels of experience are welcome and you don’t need to be a runner - you don’t even need to run! There are lots of ways you can help out during the sessions and support the Running Clubs. Please email ssands@elcschool.org.uk to find out more and to get involved.

Booking available from 6pm on Wed 26th Feb
Venue: Longniddry Playing Fields (meet at gates between school playground and playing fields)
Ages: P4 - P7
Dates: Wednesdays - Mar 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th (4 sessions)
Time: 8:15 - 8:45am
Cost: FREE
Activity Leaders: Claire Blake & Eilidh Paul
Kit Required: Footwear appropriate for outdoor activity on grass; please remember to bring a change of shoes for school; please dress appropriately for the often unpredictable weather - waterproofs, warm clothing, hats and gloves are advised as appropriate to the weather; water bottle with name on it.
If your child has previously benefitted from additional support, please let us know when signing up. We may call you to discuss further to how we can support your child.

Booking available from 6pm on Wed 15th Jan - Additional spaces available for new participants - if your child was signed up and attending in Term 1, they do not need to sign up again.
Venue: Playing Fields (meet at Gym Hall door), Preston Tower Primary School (Preston Rd)
