Rosehill School of Rugby
In partnership with Scottish Rugby and Musselburgh Rugby Football Club we are now offering a ‘School of Rugby’ Programme within curriculum time to all S1/2 Pupils.
This programme not only introduces and develops rugby skills it offers the chance for young people to build essential life skills, learn the importance of diet and nutrition and build lifelong friendships.
School of Rugby will be delivered across 2 periods a week starting after the October break. These periods will change every 6 weeks ensuring that the same class is not missed for an extended period.
To be eligible for this programme pupils must:
- Be willing to opt out of 2 periods of curriculum time per week to complete rugby development work during the school day.
- Have parental consent to opt out of 2 periods of curriculum time er week.
- Commit to training and playing as part of the School of Rugby programme.
- Maintain good attendance and conduct throughout the school community.
All communication for School of rugby will be through Rosehill High Schools SPOND. If your young person would like to participate in School of Rugby please follow the below link to register. Once you have registered you will receive an invite to our Spond account, this is a manual process and generally happens on a Friday. We cannot add anyone to Spond via group codes.
As Rosehill High School provides free sports clubs, we rely heavily on volunteers. We are always looking to extend our programmes and any support you may be able to provide as a leader, assistant or coach would be hugely appreciated. We welcome all ages, whether parent or pupil, and provide full training and support.
Coaching and volunteering is a great way to learn and develop many skills that employers are looking for.
If you have any questions regarding our programmes or you are interested in volunteering please contact us at jsloggie@elcschool.org.uk
