Pinkie Cleugh Battlefield Walk 2021
Friday 10 September
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
A guided walk over the site of the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh (1547). The tour will start from the 'Roman' Bridge over the River Esk in Musselburgh, and take the route followed by the Scottish forces in the approach to their fateful encounter with the invading English Royal army. The walk will end at the battlefield Memorial Stone off Salter's Road, Wallyford, in time for the annual commemoration ceremony of the battle, led by the Old Musselburgh Club. Walking is mostly on paved footpaths, but includes a section of steep steps leading up to St Michael's Church, Inveresk. This event is provided by the Pinkie Cleugh Battlefield Group.
