East Lothian Archaeology & Heritage Fortnight 

A Walk and Talk in historic Spott Kirk and graveyard 2024 – 2pm

Saturday 7 September

2:00 – 3:30 pm

Guided by David Anderson, a founder member of Dunbar and District History Society, our Walk and Talk will touch on the organisation and layout of the graveyard and burial practices in times past, headstones and styles, discussion of local families, people and highlight notable gravestones. 

A Question-and-Answer session will follow in ‘B’ Listed Spott Kirk with refreshments and an opportunity to view a display of local history through photographs, extracts from original records, etc.  The 1650 Battle of Dunbar Exhibition will also be available to view.

In the event of inclement weather, a Lair Plan, photographs of key gravestones and an alternative version of the talk will be available to show to attendees in the church via a screen.
