These events are for adults ages 16+, and BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. 

Please ensure you wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear on the day.

Winter Waterbirds Walk - March 2026

Monday 16 March 2026 | 1000-1200 | Aberlady

Join the Countryside Ranger for a 2-hour stroll to discover many different kinds of birds and learn about the great journeys they undertake. The walk will be along a hard-surfaced path and around 2-kilometres in length. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, if you have them. We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124/X5) arrive from Edinburgh direction at 0936 & 0957; and from North Berwick at 0936 & 1006.

Meeting Point: Sea Green, Aberlady (area of mown grass, with wooden benches, next to the Bay. Grid Ref NT465801, W3W backpacks.riders.scope)

Dawn Chorus Walk - April 2026

Wednesday 29 April 2026 | 0545-0745 | Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve 

Join the Countryside Ranger for a 2-hour wander amidst the wonder of bird song, which reaches its peak at this time of year. It's an early start, but oh so worth it! The walk will be along a hard-surfaced path and around 2-kilometres in length. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, if you have them. We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124) arrive from Musselburgh at 0546 and from North Berwick at 0525.
