Dawn Chorus Walk - April 2026

Wednesday 29 April 2026 | 0545-0745 | Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve 

Join the Countryside Ranger for a 2-hour wander amidst the wonder of bird song, which reaches its peak at this time of year. It's an early start, but oh so worth it! The walk will be along a hard-surfaced path and around 2-kilometres in length. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, if you have them. We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124) arrive from Musselburgh at 0546 and from North Berwick at 0525.

Join the Countryside Ranger for a 2-hour wander amidst the wonder of bird song, which reaches its peak at this time of year. It's an early start, but oh so worth it! The walk will be along a surfaced and unsurfaced paths, through woodlands and meadows at Levenhall and around 2-kilometres in length.

Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, if you have them.

We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses arrive in Musselburgh along the High Street and A199/Linkfield Road stops from 0530.

Magical Moths Walk

Wednesday 27th May | Aberlady Bay | 0800-1000

Join the Countryside Ranger for a walk round the nature reserve to learn all about moths, from how to identify them to the fascinating and diverse lives they lead. We'll have the excitement of discovering what moths have been attracted to the traps, before releasing them, unharmed, back into the wild.

We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124/X5) arrive from Edinburgh at 0747 and from North Berwick at 0745 and 0757.

Join the Countryside Ranger for a 2-hour evening wander as most human visitors have headed home but the wildlife is still active. The walk will be along a hard-surfaced path and around 2-kilometres in length. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, if you have them.

We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124/X5) arrive from Edinburgh at 1931, 1937 & 1958 and from North Berwick at 1943.

We will wait for anyone coming by bus. Buses (124/X5) arrive from Edinburgh direction at 1734 and 1807 and from North Berwick at 1740 and 1746.
