First Aid Course For Sports Coaches and Volunteers

The Ross High RFC have set up a Sports First Aid course with Safeaid.

On successful completion candidates will receive an SYFA & SFA approved Sports First Aid & Injury Management certificate which is valid for three years.

There is limited space (20), and places are secured on a first booked first in basis.

Members of the Ross High RFC have attended quite a number of Safeaid courses, and always found them Fun, interesting and informative, never boring or dull.

Pre-requisites:

Complete pre course reading, available from Mark Urwin, email him at murwin@elcschool.org.uk
This Pre-Course reading material will be subject to a question paper on arrival at your course.
The pass-mark for this assessment is 70% which you will be expected to pass to progress.

At the end of your course a second multiple choice paper and practical assessment will be conducted.
On successful completion of the Course, you will receive a certificate which will be valid for three years.

What to bring: The course is a practical course so please wear comfortable clothing.
Bring refreshments, snacks and lunch.
Teas & Coffees will be provided, and refreshments available to buy from the club lounge.

Course description:

This course gives the student an insight on the best way to treat a casualty who has suffered a sporting injury or has suddenly become ill. They will learn the best way to promote recovery from a sports injury to ensure the sports person fully returns to sporting activities as quickly and safely as possible

The course is designed for coaches and personal trainers working with individuals or teams involved in competitive sport or active leisure pursuits.
