Introduction
This course is for practitioners who work in Adult and Child Protection, Police Scotland, Housing, Education or Social Work Services, Women’s Support Organisations, Fire and Rescue Service Scotland, NHS Lothian or a key support service in either the a public, third or private sector organisation which work in East Lothian & Midlothian.


Learning Outcomes

  • Develop an understanding of the current legislative frameworks and East Lothian & Midlothian’s response
  • Develop an understanding of Human Trafficking and Exploitation, the indicators and how victims are controlled
  • Develop an understanding of the role and remit of Police Scotland, Border Force, Immigration and Enforcement and NHS Lothian
  • Become familiar with your role and responsibilities, Interagency Referral Discussions, the National Referral Mechanism and the Duty to Notify
