Parks In East Lothian

Parks in East Lothian

Our parks are used by a wide cross section of the community and for many different purposes. Parks are for everyone and most have adequate space for formal sports, dog walking, fitness classes or quietly sitting and enjoying the flowers and wildlife but whatever your favoured pastime please respect the wishes of others.

Not everyone is comfortable around dogs so please keep your dog under close control and away from children’s play areas and formal sports pitches, don’t play ball games near to quiet places or areas set aside for wildlife and exercise classes should be located as far away from residential areas as possible to avoid disturbance to neighbours.

Walks Around East Lothian

Walks Around East Lothian

East Lothian offers a great variety of landscapes for walking with the Lammermuir Hills to the south, a coast of beaches and cliffs and an expanse of arable farmland in between.

Many of the paths go to, or pass, vantage points offering views of the surrounding rolling landscape.

Amongst the features are many hidden gems: river valleys, woodlands, secret bays and historic sites. Whilst we have listed these routes as suitable for walkers, sections may also be suitable for cyclists and horse riders.
