DGS School of Rugby

Dunbar Grammar School of Rugby has been well established over many years now and has formed a strong partnership with Dunbar Rugby Club. This has seen many young people participate in the sport of Rugby within the local community. It has created pathways for player playing Rugby from mini level through to youths then on to senior Rugby.

Our partnership with DRFC enables us to offer a full and varied programme for those who join the SOR.

We run 2 sessions a week of after school training for all teams, we offer curriculum skills, fitness and teamwork for our S1/S2 pupils and Strength & Conditioning for older players.

DGS SOR teams will play in Scottish Rugby Unions Conference and cup matches along with friendly matches. Playing tops are supplied but we look for players to purchase blue shorts and red socks.

Girls Rugby is growing in numbers and here at DGS we offer an after school training session and match participation through East Lothian girls team.

All sessions are fun and take place in a fun environment where players learn and develop new skills and gain an understanding and the values of Rugby

For all this to happen we rely heavily on volunteers and all sessions are ran by DRFC coaches with assistance of our senior pupils. Parents volunteer to transport players to away matches (local) and buses are supplied for further afield matches.
