Welcome to Prestonpans Active Schools
Our aim is to offer school-aged children opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity, while promoting active, healthy lifestyles throughout their school years and into adulthood.
Working in partnership with schools and other community organisations, we achieve this aim with the support of a network of volunteers, coaches, parents, carers and school staff who deliver extra-curricular sports activities before and after school, during break and lunch times, and across the wider community.
Volunteers are at the heart of Active Schools, and we rely on our volunteers to help us provide free opportunities for children to be active and take part in sport at their school and in the local community To learn more about volunteering with Active Schools, please email ssands@elcschool.org.uk

14th August 2025 | Update from Stewart Sands, Active Schools Coordinator
Hello! We're looking forward to the 2025-26 school year and are in the process of planning our activity programme for Term 1 and beyond.
Due to annual leave through early September, most activities will start after the September Break (with the exception of Beginner Karate).
With various changes in availability for a few of our volunteers, there may be changes to last year's programme, and in some cases we may be unable to reintroduce all activities. However, we are aiming to recruit more volunteers to help us provide a range of activities and opportunities throughout the year. Please keep an eye out for updates from your child's school.
In the meantime, please click the link below to share your feedback on what sports you might like to see more of at your child's school. Your feedback will help us as we plan for the year ahead.
Thank you for your ongoing support - Stewart.
